Why work at The Children’s Law Center?
The Children’s Law Center (CLC) is the first and only nonprofit legal organization in NYC dedicated to representing children in contested custody, domestic violence, visitation and guardianship proceedings in Family Court. Our work shapes the lives of young clients in Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island—making sure every child has a voice in the legal system and decisions that will affect their lives.
Our attorneys, social workers, and client services teams work collaboratively from our offices in downtown Brooklyn, steps away from the court. Together, we empower our clients in court and in the community.
Open Positions
If you would like to work at the Children’s Law Center, please look through our open postings or on Idealist. If there are no open positions, please feel free to drop us a line in the contact form with a link to your resume.
“I enjoy the opportunity to make a difference in two ways: in individual children’s lives by influencing the attitudes of judges that consider these issues daily, and by helping to make reported law in the areas which we litigate.”
Our Team
We believe in the power of teamwork. Our interdisciplinary model allows staff to provide children with high quality legal representation, holistic support, and advocacy beyond the courtroom.
Such advocacy helps young people have a say in their own lives, cope with the challenging, changing world we live in, and heal from traumas associated with family dissolution, domestic violence, mental health issues, and institutional disinvestment.
We pride ourselves on our passionate and dedicated staff. We are people who are committed to excellence and care – and impacting children’s lives for the better across the city of New York.
